Time to Say Goodbye!
Well my digital friends... the time has come for me to set you free to explore the Hunt County Buzz all on your own. Over the past 5 weeks we have submersed ourselves in what it takes to create and run a successful Hyperlocal News Site, and here we are. The site is live and the weeks have ended.
Now I know some (maybe none) of you are thinking, "But Meagan, how will we know to check the Hunt County Buzz without you." Well my response to you is this. You'll know because I will have somehow turned you into followers of that site. So, in other words, you will be checking it all the time for information. An example given to me by my professor was that of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
For those of you that don't know (I didn't either until my professor brought this up), Green Bay is the same size as the city of Tyler ,Texas. Now Tyler is a relatively small town that would NOT be able to support a NFL team like Green Bay, and yet Green Bay has maintained their team for years because of the people that have a passion for it. The Hunt County Buzz is the same way.
There are those of you out there that have a passion for your local area. You have so much of that passion that you no longer need my guidance to maintain the Hunt County Buzz. You can spread your wings and take the site to new heights all on your own.
As well as keep you all informed on the progress of the Hunt County Buzz, I have at least attempted to create and pitch a social media marketing campaign to the team at the Hunt County Buzz, where we take to the sites as it were. We connect our social media platforms directly to the main site and let you follow us not only through your laptops but through your mobile phones. If we utilize all the most commonly used forms of Social Media, we then have the ability to reach our followers with almost instantaneous information.
In conclusion, this semester may be coming to a close, but the Hunt County Buzz will live on to bring the people of Hunt County and the students of Texas A&M University Commerce news and heartwarming stories for years to come.
So for the last time...
HERE'S TO THE BUZZ!!!!
