Week 2 (Promotions)

Hello all and welcome to another edition of RTV 453!! Last week we discussed the basics of a hyperlocal news source and why they are valuable to a community. The example I gave was the Saline Post's decision to include community input, i.e. story suggestions and the like from the people the source benefits. Well this week, we have a new topic, drum roll please... The Mass Media & Journalism Department of Texas A&M University Commerce will be creating and presenting their own Hyperlocal News Source!!!

As we know, a hyperlocal news source is a faucet of information however they are based in an often-small community. One of the aspects of the Hunt County Buzz (that's the TAMUC site name) is the usage of popular social media sites. Seeing that most of the new generations are what some would call addicted to their phones and their social media, those of us at the Hunt County Buzz thought social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram would be an excellent addition to the site. So before we add these platforms to the site lets take a deeper look into just how many people would follow and use the social media platforms.

As you can see, the platforms of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are among the most popular, therefore they add the greatest value to our site!!
